The Top 1000 Channels on YouTube

The Top 1000 channels have increased their average monthly views by 8.3% and average subscriber count by 16.8% in the past six months. Channels in the Top 1000 published an average of 36 videos in August.

From July to August 2015, average monthly views dipped 12% to 23.6MM and average subscribers increased 1% to 2.37MM. Of the Top 1000 channels, the Top 100 account for 26.2% of subscribers, 28.7% of monthly views and 15% of the videos published.

The Top 100 Sports Channels on YouTube

The Top 100 sports-focused channels on YouTube according to OpenSlate’s SlateScore have:

  • A 68.6% concentration in the 18-34 age group.
  • A demographic split of 91.3% male / 8.7% female viewership.
  • An average of 5.6MM monthly views. The Top 10 sports-focused channels have an average of 18.8MM monthly views.

Brand Spotlight: Studios & Films

The Top 100 Studios & Films brands on YouTube according to OpenSlate's SlateScore have:

  • A total of 684MM monthly views and 25MM total subscribers.
  • An average of 252K subscribers per channel. The Top 10 Studios & Films brands (listed below) have an average of almost 1.3MM subscribers.
  • Over 6.8MM average monthly views compared to the Top 10 Studios & Films brands with over 31.7MM average monthly views.
