The Top 1000 Channels on YouTube

The Top 1000 channels have increased their average monthly views by 15.2% and average subscriber count by 12% in the past six months. Channels in the Top 1000 published an average of 53 videos in April.

From March to April 2015, average monthly views declined less than 1% to 21.6MM and average subscribers are stable at 2MM. Of the Top 1000 channels, the Top 100 account for 26.1% of subscribers, 30.5% of views and 17.6% of the videos published.

The Top 100 Comedy Channels on YouTube

The Top 100 comedy and humor-focused channels on YouTube according to OpenSlate’s SlateScore have:

  • A 68% concentration in the 18-34 age group.
  • A demographic split of 72% male / 28% female viewership.
  • An average of 6.1MM monthly views. The Top 10 comedy and humor-focused channels have an average of 35.4MM monthly views.

Brand Spotlight: Sports Teams & Organizations

The Top 100 Sports Teams & Organizations brands on YouTube according to OpenSlate's SlateScore have:

  • A total of 454MM monthly views and 25MM total subscribers.
  • An average of 249K subscribers per channel. The Top 10 Sports brands (listed below) have an average of almost 1.8MM subscribers.
  • Over 4.5MM average monthly views compared to the Top 10 Sports brands with over 37MM average monthly views.
