Software Engineer (Python)

OpenSlate analyzes data from hundreds of millions of YouTube videos each day to provide transparency and insight into the ever changing world of user-generated content. Our applications provide value to blue chip advertisers, agencies and those interested in better understanding ad-supported content on YouTube.

We’re looking for experienced engineers with expertise in Python who would enjoy the challenge of building applications to explore and analyze this vast and highly dynamic data.

Key requirements include:

  • 5+ years experience building non-trivial, data-centric python applications and API’s in a Linux environment
  • Thorough understanding of common internet networking technologies, including TCP, HTTP, DNS
  • Expertise working with RDBMS, including schema design, writing SQL for complex multi-table queries and optimizing query performance
  • Expertise in using Git and Git branching models
  • You enjoy working as a part of a collaborative team and demonstrate an open mindset

Responsibilities Include:
  • Designing and building scalable systems that can collect, store, retrieve and transform data coming from a variety of different sources including APIs, Postgres, Solr, S3 and Cassandra
  • Designing and implementing maintainable API’s that support our end-user applications
  • Selecting appropriate data storage and retrieval methods and technologies
  • Designing data-structures and optimizing queries that deal with millions of rows of data
  • Creating reusable and maintainable code, automated tests and clear documentation

Data Scientist

OpenSlate is seeking driven and creative data scientists to join our growing team in analyzing and deriving insights from the billions of data points we store and process each day. As Data Scientist at OpenSlate, you will examine and process statistical metadata sourced from both public and private APIs to assist our clients in making better marketing decisions. The Data Operations Associate is responsible for the tactical support of media campaigns in social video environments utilizing OpenSlate data targeting (focused on YouTube).

Client Engagement Manager

The Client Engagement Manager is responsible for the hands-on management of social video campaigns utilizing OpenSlate data targeting (focused on YouTube). Part of the Client Success Organization, the Client Engagement team provides all day-to-day client execution, including client onboarding training, campaign set-up consultation, data // performance troubleshooting, optimization consultation, and contextual analytics reporting.
